Freestyle anyone?

I have a lot of respect for the DJ's that came before me in Austin. Spinner T, Isaac "The Iceman", John "Smokin'" Ramirez, DJ Dominic... But there were 2 DJ's that took the time to show me what they knew about a new sound coming out of Chicago & New York in the late 80's and early 90's. Martin "The Hitman" (R.I.P) was the first person I ever heard call it "Latin" HipHop but another great DJ named Brown Boy James called it Freestyle. Whatever you old schoolers choose to call it, we all are taken back to a time in Austin when San Jose church had teen dances that blew away any club today. Clubs like Eastern Block, Club Fire, The Subway, Lizard Lounge, Club Xscape all followed suit with teen dances that had Freestyle "latin" HipHop artists performing live. Abe Cortez (as annoying as he was) put together some of the biggest car shows at Fiesta Gardens & his TV show Power House. (The original Power House TV show) aired all the highlights the following week. Yep, this music is the sound of early 90's Austin for hispanics. Z Cavaricci pants, Rayon button down Tees, and maybe a Bugle Boy 2 button sweater over that with all black slide on Playboy loafers to finish off the outfit. The ladies rocked the "High" hair doo. You know the bangs were all like 9 inches high and a perm in back. You gotta miss those days. Here's a FREE Freestyle "Latin" HipHop mix to take you back to old school Austin. Graffiti crews, gangs, dance battles, The Original "Skamster" (R.I.P), B-93 radio all gave us the best memories growing up. Shout to all my old schoolers! I hope you enjoy this....A MUST DOWNLOAD!

POUR A DRINK TO THIS ONE AND TAKE YOURSELF BACK!!
